Much like how the xylem of plants transports vital nutrients to the stems and leaves (and provides us with Maple sap), this cocktail transports an explosion of interesting flavors straight to your taste buds.

Featured Spirit: Apple Brandy

The sweetness of brandy, vermouth, and maple syrup is balanced with fresh lemon and bitters, giving this cocktail a uniquely complex flavor. Distilled from 100% Door County apples (not apple flavored!), Hatch Apple Brandy is light and crisp when compared to its grape-based counterparts. After distillation, Hatch Apple Brandy undergoes a solera aging process, giving it a unique and complex flavor in cocktails. 


  • 1 ½ oz Apple Brandy 
  • ½ oz Vermouth Blanco 
  • ¾ oz maple syrup 
  • ¾ oz lemon juice 
  • 1 dash Boker’s style (cardamom) bitters

Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin and top with ice. Shake vigorously for 20 - 30 seconds, and strain into a rocks glass with a large cube. Garnish with a lemon peel.
